Collection: Sunsets

The year was 1984 and fashion was all about mini-skirts, muscle shirts, and parachute pants. Bikinis were teeny and sold as sets. From a small loft in Southern California, Sunsets was born as the first, truly mix and match separate company devoted solely and completely to swimwear separates. The first collection consisted of three tops and three bottoms in an array of solid neon colors! The separates revolution was born.

Through the years swimwear has changed drastically. Bottoms became high, low, lower, mid-rise, skimpy, full, banded, and back again. Tops became triangles, underwires, demi’s, halters, padded, deconstructed, and back again. Fashion in swimwear is like the tide of the seas – in one minute and out the next! Through it all, Sunsets has stayed solely focused on separating and bringing the most fashionable swimwear to Southern California and the world.

Today, the Sunsets family operates out of a 25,000 sq ft warehouse in Los Angeles, CA, and supports specialty retailers and websites with several collections. After 37 years, Sunsets continues to be our flagship brand. Along the way, we added Swim Systems, B Swim, and Sunsets Escape to our portfolio of separates collections.
